Our Story

The rice bowl dishes served at ‘The Deopbab’ was originally created during the pandemic as a takeout menu for Shaburina, a Japanese hot pot restaurant located in Redmond, WA owned by a couple Terence Em and Sabrina Kim. Shaburina is a AYCE restaurant that had opened its doors a few months before the covid shutdown in Washington state. Being a hot pot buffet restaurant Shaburina did not have a takeout menu ready for the mandatory closure. That is when Terence and Sabrina created the rice bowl dishes for takeout. The dishes quickly became popular and played a big role in helping the owners sustain during the shutdown.

After the mandatory closure was lifted, Shaburina had to pause the takeout service due to the kitchen getting busier and crowded maintaining its original operations.

However, there were enough customers asking them to bring back the takeout menu so Terence and Sabrina decided to give it it’s own brand.

This is how The Deopbab was created and is now operating within Shaburina for lunch only.
